Unhappy Slow boot

Whe computer is booted,it goes to IDE drives and than hangs..Is there an easy fix for this ..I also have to keep playing with CTRL ,ATL and Delete..

If your ide detection settings were lost
and the machine needs to re-detect

I'd replace the cmos battery
