If you format the drive there won't be anything on it. If you don't have
everything you need to reinstall, it's probably not wise to wipe it all off.

You could burn your data to CDs to save it, but programs and drivers would
have to be reinstalled.

Default HELP! how to reformat my CPU

Install AIDA32 http://www.aida32.hu/aida-features.php?bit=32 It will create
a Summary of your computer. It also supplies you with links to download
drivers for various hardware like audio, video, chipset etc. So get the
drivers you need and burn them to a CD. After that you can do the a reformat
and reinstall. Follow the instructions here

the only way to format your CPU is with a hammer or a blow torch.

What you REALLY mean, is "How do I format my Hard Disk".

How you enter the BIOS Setup utility varies with the different brands of
computers. Some you press the Delete key, some press the F1 key, and
others you press the ESC key. So the best recommendation would be to
refer to the documentation that came with your PC, or go to their web site.
