I really messed up now -malware !

Anyhow, (on a Win 8 machine) I went to download Microsoft Defender
(presumably antimalware software). Using google, I got a list of
"Download Microsoft Defender" sites listed. Carelessly, I clicked
the first one on the list (which was not a Microsoft site). I paid
dearly. What I got was malware of some type --really bad. Now I
literally can't do anything with that computer. Nothiung works.
So any useable suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you still have the box that it came in, box it up and send it back. You
may not be qualified to use it.

I have to say that was mean - but that I laughed out loud :-)

It's now nearly two weeks later. Still think I was mean? ;-)
