Default Epson still stealing focus!

Latest Windows 10 with all updates. Brand new Epson injket with latest driver and firmware. I'm typing emails and every bloody time it runs out of paper or ink, a dialog pops up in front of what I'm doing and whatever keys I happen to be pressing cancel the printjob, open Epson support websites, and all sorts of other ****. Seriously? Haven't Epson or Microsoft sorted this out yet?!?

The hint here is, it could be a "print server" rather than
a printer, meaning you have to look around a few more
places to suppress "toast notifications".

It's a desktop inkjet (Epson XP-352) connected via USB to a single desktop. Not networked at all.

It's not a Windows 10 problem. No ordinary program should steal
focus globally. That's what the notification/system tray is for.
Playing a sound is another option. You need to take it up with
Epson. It's not supposed to happen, but even a non real programmer
like I am can make it happen. If Microsoft did not allow globally
"stealing" focus (through a somewhat tricky procedure), global
macro/script programs could not work. And thank heaven it does! My
voice activated scripting would be crippled without the ability to
globally "steal" focus.

Agreed. And you'd think Epson was big enough to do things right. Having to change the paper really isn't important enough to interrupt me typing. Even if they do so, no keypresses should activate anything on the dialog box.

That's what the notification/system tray is for.

Hmmm, there must be a sensible way around this.
