Default USB 2

You have to have a USB 2.0 controller and ports.

Without
knowing what hardware you have, and what actually does
show up in device manager, it's hard for us to answer
your question.

Why doesn't USB 2 show up in Device Manager. I have
Windows Service Pack 1 installed.
.

.
I have Athlon 2800+ cpu, ATI 9800 graphics, Chaintech

7njs Zenith motherboard, Crucial PC2700 memory.
Motherboard is USB enabled. In device manager I have
Nvidia enhanced host controller and under that is
standard usb.

You need to buy a new USB2 card to get USB2 ports. The one you have is
only USB 1.1
