Default Network Roaming Profile Slowdown

Please excuse me, this is a repost from microsoft.public.windowsxp...

I have a small network setup at home. The server is running Win2K Server
and the workstations are running WinXP. One workstation is a Intel P3-500
running over a WiFi connection and the Other machine is a AMD 1Ghz Duron
running over ethernet.

When a user logs in using a roaming profile, the login takes about 5
minutes to complete. The same thing happens when a user trys to launch IE or
anyother application. Its all quite slow. There is no problem when logging
in to the machine only and not using the roaming profile. Both machines
exhibit the same 'slowdown'.

Any suggetsions?

Glenn
