Default "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" doesn't appear in Device manager

I am trying to capture video from Camcorder DV output but
cannot see camera in app. How do I install 1394 support
drivers in Windows XP? Thanks

Default "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" doesn't appear in Device manager

They should have been installed automatically when you installed the card.
Can you turn off the PC, physically remove the card, then turn on the PC....
then turn off the PC again and reinsert the card, turn on the PC and ensure
XP installs the drivers... (yes, I know this isn't possible if the firewire
port is attached to the motherboard - in that case go to the motherboard
manufacturer's website and see if they have updated drivers.

Thanks Cari. It isn't a firewire card per se. It's an ATI
Radeon 8500-DV video card with/Capture which is supposed
to accept DV in from camcorders. It has the jack for DV.
It works fine with comp & SVideo in.

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the ATI drivers.

There is a bug in Win XP, so you have to format the disk and reinstall all
programs.

I found the problem. It turns out that the card has a dip
switch for disabling the FW port. It was supposed to
default to enabled from the factory. Upon checking it I
found it Disabled. Enabled it and it works fine. Thanks
