MS backup on XP 3
I have Windows XP SP 3 on my computer
I installed MS backup. when I try to start a backup a window pops up with: "The files for the recovery diskette could not be created. The operation was aborted" I have an A drive. I have a 2TB IOSafe USB drive for backup & photo storage that I just connected to the computer that I want the backup stored to. I can copy files to the new 2TB drive, so I know it is operating properly. This drive came with a 5 year recovery warrantee if it fails for any reason, including flood & fire. Thanks for any guidance. Tom J |

I had a disk is in the A drive, but the program says it will ask for a disk to be installed when it needs it, so I've tried without with the same results.. Have you tried Restart and running it again? Perhaps you're in the midst of an interrupted backup that's finished to the point of asking for the floppy?; which, in ntbackup (native to XP) will let you cancel and change to a disk drive letter instead. If msbackup is something that came with or installed on the new hard drive, then your best bet is going to be to check with the manufacturer. So, can you be a bit more explicit? HTH, Twayne |
