Default "cant find Video Capture driver"

I have installed a cheap generic firewire card to capture
video from my digital camera, but when I try to capture
video with Premiere I get a mesage saying "cant find
Video caputer driver". The card is working because it
will actually start the camera rolling, but there is no
vdeo overlay or capture. Any ideas?

I would go to cheapgeneric.com and check their support site. I would
also check your camera manual, digitalcamera.com support site and
determine what kind of firewire host controller is required, and if the
card from cheapgeneric has that required type of host controller from
its device manager entry.

Typically, the camera requires an OHCI compliant controller, and if your
cheapgeneric card does not have one, or has an NEC controller (which
seems to have problems with OHCI) you might have to purchase a better
card from namebrandfirewire.com.
