How do I remove spy soft ware from my system. I have a
Search bar that has been automatically installed and I
get pop ups saying I have Huntbar installed. I want to
remove these from my system.

Hi
I recommend spy bot search $ destroy
http://www.safer-networking.org

or
ad-aware
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

its up to you which one you use but you must keep it up to date, also a Firewall will also help prevent them

After you remove the spystuff with spybot etc you should install spywareBlaster 3.1 from javacoolsoftware.com. It prevents all this stuff from being installed in the first place.
It works well. Try it.

Greetings --

To deal with issues caused by any sort of "adware" and/or
"spyware,"such as Gator, Comet Cursors, Smiley Central, Xupiter,
Bonzai Buddy, or KaZaA, and their remnants, that you've deliberately
(but without understanding the consequences) installed, two products
that are quite effective (at finding and removing this type of
scumware) are Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search &
Destroy from www.safer-networking.org/. Both have free versions.
It's even possible to use SpyBot Search & Destroy to "immunize" your
system against most future intrusions. I use both and generally
perform manual scans every week or so to clean out cookies, etc.

Additionally, manual removal instructions for the most common
varieties of scumware are available he
