Please help! bootable hard disk
Tom McCord wrote:
I am amazed at what has changed with XP over 98. I am just learning diskpart rather than FDISK. I have no idea how to make a drive bootable in XP. From a recovery console use diskpart list partitions to find the number n of the one you want to make active select partition n active exit BTW - apart from the system's own partition (which you normally set up as part of installing the system anyway) I suggest you use Control Panel - Admin Tools - Computer Management, select Disk Management and look lower right for the graphic of the drive. In that you can r-click in Unallocated space, or Free space to make a partition or volume, or in an existing partition to reformat or delete it - or to change drive letters of a partition or CD/DVD etc (apart from the system's partition) -- Alex Nichol MS MVP (Windows Technologies) Bournemouth, U.K. (remove the D8 bit) |
