Default SP 1a Problems

I installed SP 1a on my XP Home Edition computer and once
the install is complete, my computer won't boot except in
Safe Mode. I remove the SP installation and everything
seems to be okay, except for a few drivers.
When it is rebooting after the installation, a blue
screen with lots of text comes up, but it is so fast I
can't even begin to read it.
Has anyone experienced problems with XP Home SP 1a
installation or am I the first? I even called the
computer manufacturer, who was no help, as usual.

Thanks,
Dan
