NEVERMIND!! I unchecked the "Time to display list..." and "Time to display recovery..." and IT'S GONE!!! Thanks so much. I appreciate it. I know it was kinda piddily, but I just wanted it gone. Jeff -----Original Message----- No, not normal. You can get rid of it from Control Panel, System, and the Advanced tab. Choose Startup and Recovery. You'll see two choices for the default OS and options to choose to boot to one or the other. Change these settings so that you only have the one choice, or set XP to be the default and set the time to 0 seconds to choose. -- Joli Ballew Author of Windows XP Professional - The Ultimate Users Guide http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/- /1932111131/qid=1032102475/sr=1 -1/ref=sr_1_1/104-8870441-8688732?v=glance&s=books Purchase my XP E-books at www.expert-guides.com "Jeff" wrote in message ... When I start up, I get a "dos looking" screen that asks me whether I want to boot from windows xp, or windows. Then gives me 20 seconds to decide. Is this normal and or necessary? Can I get rid of it? Thanks, Jeff . |
