Default Help Please! Start-up Folder Won't Start-up!

Hi. Okay, this is what happened. Somehow I moved my Start-up folder (the
one in which you can place programs that will also boot-up when you log on)
out of the program list (at the START list) and I ended-up with a duplicate
one. So I tried to get rid of the new one -- and ended up with yet another.
And so on. I managed somehow to delete what I thought were the extra ones,
but the one I have left in the START list doesn't work -- that is, the
programs I put in it will NOT load automatically when I sign on.
Now I check the location of this one remaining "Start-up" folder under
Properities and it appears to be the same as the original one. But still the
programs in it won't load when I start-up.
Now, there are two *other* user partitions on my PC and the Start-up folders
work fine in them, that is, the load the programs in them when those user
sides start. I even tried moving one of those good folders to my user side,
but it still didn't load the programs in it when I started-up my side, *SIGH*
So, how the heck to I get a *WORKING* Start-up folder working in my
user-partition. And how do I get rid of any duplicates that might occure --
if I can get a working Start-up folder -- without killing the one that *is*
working?!
Help please with sugar on it! *Thanks!* --gxn1

Go to G:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.
There should be shortcuts to the programs you want started on bootup. If not
you will have to create
new shortcuts by rt clicking on the program.exe files and choose send
to desktop as shortcut. Then move all the shortcuts into the Startup folder.

The Startup folder is a system folder and if you delete or rename it,
another will be created at next boot. You just need to put the shorcuts
back in that folder from the one you moved out of place.

I understand this. As I wrote previously, I kept deleting and having new
"Start-Up" folders (with different names at times) reappearing until the
Start-up folder just stopped working at all.

You just need to put the shorcuts
back in that folder from the one you moved out of place.

I believe I wrote I had tried this (actually, I've tried it a lot of times)
and this did not work.

Thanks for trying to help, however.

There is NO Startup folder at that location.

What should I do? Create a new one or what? Should I get rid of the
non-working Start-up folder that is in my Start list now first or what?

Will it have the right location/direction information to work correctky?

I am rather clueless about all this, so could you please write a little
simplier.

Thank you.
