Default Video and Voice over Linksys WRT54G Wireless Router Not Working

Has anybody gotten Windows Messenger 4.7 to work with a webcam over a
Linksys WRT54G
wireless router. Me and a buddy of mine just upgraded to the wireless
router and now we can't use a webcam for conversations.

Thanks for any info.

Gregg

Greetings Gregg,

In order to establish voice/video connections over a NAT (router), the router must support
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). Most of the models of the WRT54G that were recently released
do not have UPnP firmware. However, there is now an update to allow it to support UPnP:
http://www.linksys.com/download/firmware.asp?fwid=178

After installation, UPnP may be need to turned on (I haven't actually seen the configuration
for the WRT54G, but if its similar to other Linksys firmware, the UPnP toggle will be on the
Password tab). After upgrading the firmware and turning on UPnP, the PC will need to be
rebooted and then voice/video should work.
