Default Messenger dead in the water.

I have the same problem and have taken the same steps as
well as updating direct x to 9.0a still a no go. Just to
let you know msnmessanger 5.0 works in my situation.
-----Original Message-----
I have windows messenger V. 4.7.0.105. The other day I

found it would not
open.

These are the steps I have taken.

I downloaded the file to reinstall the install started

but did not seam to
finish. Still no go. I found a Bat file that

uninstalls messenger and ran
that restarted the computer and installed again. The

install did not finish
I restarted and still no luck. The files are in my

program files folder so
I know they got installed. I have NAV 2003 and they

worked ok together but I
have turned off monitoring of Messenger. The last thing

that I did I can
remember before it stopped working was install the

update for .Net services.
Also I get a message Messenger has crashed every once in

a while but I have
not started it I am guessing Windows needed it for

something.

Any ideas on what to do next? Would installing MSN

Messenger 5 help?

Thanks
