No, not normal. You can get rid of it from Control

Panel, System, and the
Advanced tab. Choose Startup and Recovery. You'll see

two choices for the
default OS and options to choose to boot to one or the

other. Change these
settings so that you only have the one choice, or set XP

to be the default
and set the time to 0 seconds to choose.
