Soldering iron.

*******

Or, there's a hint here, not a guarantee in 2019 or anything.
This is probably from ancient times.

http://smallvoid.com/article/winnt4-...se-button.html

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet \Services \ PORT-TYPE-X]
NumberOfButtons=3

Mice can be connected via a number of computer bus types,
and the Port-TYPE-X in the above is a variable that
you fill with the type of your particular mouse.

It's possible if that is set to "2" instead, the middle
mouse button would get ignored.

But you'll have to test that out and see.

This mouse is an IBM mouse exactly like this picture
https://www.bonanza.com/listings/Ibm...09KZ/748694239

On my Win10 registry, the PORT-TYPE-X option isn't there.
The closest is
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlS et\Services\PortProxy

I tried the Microsoft software Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center
https://www.microsoft.com/accessorie...eyboard-center
The Microsoft software didn't recognize the IBM mouse.

Then I tried this XMouse software
https://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/...toncontrol.htm

Which allowed me to disable the middle mouse button and the up and down
scroll wheel function of the blue lit button.

For unsoldering, I did take apart the mouse where I can show you a picture
if you want it.
