Default Windows XP SP2 Stop error at Startup

At startup, it shows the following stop error:

"STOP: c0000135 {Unable to Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was
not found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem."

I have searched far and wide, and I even found
a "solution" but it doesn't apply to Windows XP.

I use Windows XP Professional and I have manually
installed SP2 (ouch!). And I'm in a real fix now. Please
help!

I'm also using a Toshiba Tecra M2 laptop.

Please help! Answer soon!

Oh, and forgot to tell you, I use BootSkin, so.. that
might be the problem, but I still can't fix it!
