Default IE7 vs Firefox

I'm running windows xp sp3 with all updates installed.

I prefer using Firefox and have designated it as my default browser.

However when I have a link in an email for the browser IE7 comes up instead
of Firefox.

And when I click on IE7 firefox comes up.

What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it?

Thank for your help.

Regards,

If you're using Mozilla's Firefox version 3.5.2b1, try this within
Firefox: Tools Options... Advanced System Defaults

and check appropriately.
