How Administrator can allow user to share and use a program
I am running windows Xp Pack 3 as administrator. But I also use another user
account because I dont want to be on the internet as an administrator for security reasons. Under my user account I sometimes cannot download and install programs so I download under the administrator account, but I can't use these programs under the user account. Is there a way to share these programs without giving administrative rights to the user account? Thanks for your help |

Some will give you the option when installing to make the app available to all users or just to the user installing it. Other apps (poorly written ones) will only run with administrator privileges. Downloading and installing are two different things. If for some reason you can only download while logged in as an administrator (?), try copying the install file to the non-admin account and then installing from that account. Or create a shortcut to the app installed under the admin account using the RunAs command: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true -- Lem Apollo 11 - 40 years ago: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/ap...0th/index.html |
