Messenger for Windows Server 2003?
Is MSN Messenber (or Windows Messenger) supported on Windows Server 2003?
I have found no official statement from Microsoft either way. The documentation for remote assistance invitation contains a link that points to http://messenger.microsoft.com, which opens a page suggesting Windows Messenger for XP. However, that download page clearly states that this version "can only be installed on the Windows XP operating system". |

Messenger for Windows Server 2003?
Greetings,
Both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger 5 should work fine on Windows Server 2003. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "Klas Mellbourn" wrote in message ... Messenger for Windows Server 2003?
Hi,
Messenger's UPnP capabilities are OS independent -- meaning, you can use a UPnP-enabled router and therefore use file transfer, voice/video in Windows 98 (which has UPnP support either). ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com "mbg" wrote in message om... It (Windows Messenger) should work, but if you choose MSN Messenger, you should not choose the XP version because Windows Server 2003 does not support UPnP. |
