Default Processor Usage

I currently have the default setting that no single program can use more than
50% of the CPU while working on a task. How do I change this to a higher
value?

Thanks.

I should also add that I recall getting prompted for this during WinXP
install. The default is 50% and I accepted the default. It stated it could
be changed, but of course, I cannot recall where/how.

Nothing native with the operating system. Look for something in your mobo
manual. You might be hitting a temperature limit that the mobo is
controlling.
