Default XP not recognizing flopy

does it power up(lite on)? if it powers up, but is
unrecognized in windows a fualty/loose cable can cause it
(even if the bios has enabled it)

I have reinstalled windows XP and since then drive A ( my
floppy drive) doesn't appear at all in the device
manager at all , even though it's marked as enabled in
the BIOS. I also tryed to use the hardware wizard but no
luck.
help please.
