read only file system
Hi all,
While using the MS media player over the internet, the application crashed. Some programms now fail to save to disk afterwards. I found the following: My complete directory structure is read only!! on all drives. So I tried to un-tick at the highest level, this takes a view seconds, but in the end, although the message suggests otherwise it is not changed. This all happened in xp-home being an administrator. Does any body have a clue? I dont want to use my recovery cd if there is any other option. Regards Jeroen |

read only file system
How do you know your entire file system is read only? If it is then YOU =
did it. Are you saying ALL your files are read only (I doubt windows = would start). Specify the problem precisely. If you are referring to folders then a/ some are and should be read = only, b/ windows won't let you break it by removing read only on = folders, c/ read only does not mean read only when applied to a folder, = it means parse the desktop.ini. --=20 http://www.g2mil.com/Apr2003.htm http://www1.iraqwar.ru/?userlang=3Den http://news.lycos.com/news/photo.asp...s&photoId=3D2= 93509&from=3Demail --------------------------------------------------------------- David Candy http://www.mvps.org/serenitymacros --------------------------------------------------------------- "jeroen" wrote in message = ...
