No, the installation will overwrite the previous entries. and if i want to uninstall it, do i have to do it Twice? No, you only need to do this once. -- William |

It depends on what the program was and how and where it was installed. You *probably* (but not necessarily) installed it over the top of itself, and there should be no problem. and if i want to uninstall it, do i have to do it Twice? If you have two copies of it installed, yes. If not, no. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

If the installs went to the same place (defaults during the install), then
there is only one copy there; it was simply overwritten. Uninstall will remove it all as well as the software author wrote the code to remove. If you installed it to different locations, as in you chose something other than the suggested default location during install, then it might leave more craplets behind when you uninstall, but the first uninstall will likely be all you need. The uninstall would likely take out some or many of the "common" files and the files stored in the default locations (even though you chose a different location, not ALL the files went there & thus the Registry might still know about both locations), and a second uninstall -might- not even be possible, or would claim there is nothing to uninstall. If it has its own uninstall program, you -might- be able to run that successfully in each of the two locations, but it's not a big deal. You might be left with the old folders still there and they could be deleted, but what's left behind in the Registry is not likely to bother anything. Since you asked the question in the way you did, I suspect you probably double installed to the same default locations, so rest easy. -- Let someone else do it I'm retired!
