Default disk defrag

Nothing happens when clicking on Defragment or Analyze in Disk Defragmenter
(dfrg.msc).

With XP SP2 the DCOM Server Process Launcher service needs to be running for
Defrag to work.

Open Services...
Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click DCOM Server Process Launcher |
Set the startup type to Automatic | Click Apply |
Click the Start button | When the service starts, click OK |
Close Services | Reboot

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Default Defrag

Disable the Windows built-in defrag schedule [Control Panel - System
and Maintenance - Defragment your hard drive - uncheck 'run on a
schedule'] and use this;

Pareologic -'
(http://www.pchealthadvisor.com/)

Much faster and natively x64. And you get a progress bar
