Remote Registry access denied problems to SP2 machines
Remote Registry access problems to SP2 machines
When Sp2 was released I made a Slipstreamed Xp/Sp2 bootable CD, and installed some machines using this CD. Now I have some issues when I try to use computer management from another PC in the same domain with a domain admin user. When trying to manage this PCs an error like this appears: "Unable to access the computer pc_name. The error was: Access denied" This error appears when trying to access the event viewer, performance, and computer devices subfolders of computer management. Shared folders, Local Users & Groups and Services can be accessed without problems. We are pretty sure that this happens on machines installed with this slipstreamed XP SP2 CD, but not on machines upgraded to SP2 using the network install. I'm working in a domain which I'm admin, so I have enough permission to access it. Windows Firewall is disabled via domain policy. I can connect to the machines, just can't access some areas. Any ideas? |
