wish I had Bookmarked That page.. It had Something to Do with The USER
AGREEMENT,
The FACT that the Agreement was on The installation Disk INSIDE a SEALED

Their Refund policy stated that if you didnot agree to the Agreement,
You Can RETURN THE PRODUCT to the Store you bought it FROM in, The
PACKAGE must BE UNOPENED ..

Default how do I get my money back

John;
1. Return it to the seller.

2. Also if you live in North America and have had it less than 30 days, you
can return directly to Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/info/nareturns.htm
This applies to retail not OEM.

The "Manifest Parse Error" typically indicates one several things:
1. Copy of Windows CD - Use original CD only
2. Dirty/damaged CD or drive - Clean CD and drive, replace one or both.
Whatever the cause, the correct information on the CD is probably not
getting past the drive.

yeah but how can you take it back unopen and not know if it works or not? If
I didn't try to install it I wouldn't have known it's not working for me.

Jupiter,
I got it for a xmas gift........the error, well both my win98 and winxp are
original, and the xp has been in it's box until yesterday when I tried
installing it. Could it be possible the CD itself is bad or corrupt?

The "Manifest Parse Error" typically indicates one several things:
1. Copy of Windows CD - Use original CD only
2. Dirty/damaged CD or drive - Clean CD and drive, replace one or both.
Whatever the cause, the correct information on the CD is probably not
getting past the drive.

It has happened, but it is rare.
Can you temp install a different CD drive?

Or temp install a different hard drive and see if you can perform a Clean
Installation of Windows XP.

it will ask you for a win 98 or a win/me installation disk ( CD) and
then proceed with a FULL INSTALL
This is the BEST way to upgrade to XP ( Get the old Sysyem off your
HARDdrive and start out FRESH..

Even tho my installation Started as Win 3.1 upgraded to win 95 and then
win95 upgraded to win98 Win 98 upgrade to to 98Se and the to win/me Now
Win XP HOME ! I just Kept Cloning The Hard drives to largr drives

John, If you are going to do a Clean Install (Which you can as Jupiter Jones
stated ) - Make sure you backup any important files first onto cod. The
clean install will totally format your hard drive.
The clean install is the best way to do it.
