Hi,
What specifically are you trying to allow? You can't modify the account type, but you can often add appropriate permissions. There is a tool here thay may interest you: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_securityconsole.htm -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Ian" wrote in message ... All children should only be allowed limited access (mind you, that goes for some parents too...) - give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves, eventually.... -- In memory of MS MVP Alex Nichol: http://www.dts-l.org/ |

Probably game playing or educational software. Pretty much all that stuff is absolutely appalling from the perspective of what rights and permissions it assumes the person running it has. |

Rick
Thanks for the tool it's set me off to limit his access as an administrator. Is there some way of stopping him loading programs direct from CD? The remove access from Add/Remove hasn't stopped that. Hi,
No, I don't think so as long as the account remains an administrative level one. He would always have installation privileges, you would have to remove that function as a group policy, and that would mean no one could install software. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Associate Expert - WindowsXP Expert Zone www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Ian" wrote in message ...
