Recovery Console or Repair

XP Home and XP Proff.

I have tested the Recovery Console several times. On XP Home and
Professional. But after logging into Recovey Console there are not menus,
etc.

Each time I have to Restart into the Repair option which works. If a user
knew how to use the Recovery Console is it faster to repair a Video driver
error or if the Repair option required to fix the video driver error?

Of course the Recovery Console doesn't have menus! There is no gui. The best
solution is to fix the issue that's causing the problem in the first place
instead of just sticking a temporary bandage on it. And since you didn't
specify what the "video driver error" is, what the video card is, and what
the actual issue is, I can't address that.

For instance, did you first try:

1. Going into Safe Mode?
2. Going into Last Known Good Configuration?
3. Going into Safe Mode Command Prompt (no gui) and running System Restore
from the command line?

I would try all of those things before going into the very limited Recovery
Console or doing a Repair Install of Windows. Especially since all the
Windows Updates will need to be done after the Repair Install.

And of course, if the video card itself is dying none of the above will be a
permanent solution.

Malke has the right advice. I might add that BartPE or UBCDWin are in
general much more useful repair-tools than the recovery console.
