Default ONE VIDEO CARD WITH 3 OUTPUTS FOR 3 MONITORS

Hi,

I am in the medical field and in the radiology department, I review images
from CT CAT scanning, In the hospital obviously we have an IT Dept and
all the
help we can get.

Here at home, I am on my own, there is no help, I only have one PC
(desktop) with PCIe Win XP Pro
32 bit.

Here is what I wish to accomplish:

I want to purchase a video card
that has THREE VGA or DVI outputs where I can connect three monitors
into one
video card and be able to view a very large document and be able to move the
document
from one monitor into another monitor and even a third monitor.

So basically how can I have one computer with three monitors. Also I
need to be able to reboot my PC and be able to go back to my WIN XP without
having to spend several minutes and reconfigure the three monitors, I want
windows to remember the last conf settings.

Why all the video cards have only 2 outputs and not three? what if
someone wants three! am I missing anything ? Thanks in advance for
all your help.

Why three monitors? You'll get the result you want if you buy two large
widescreen monitors set to one display.

You are missing something... (Ability to use Google? Effort put forth to
look?)

First - there are three and four output video cards - if you have PCIe in
your computer.
Second - you can also combine video cards (put more than one in a machine)
and get all sorts of output possibilities.
Third - are you sure you need this and not just two widescreen monitors?
(30"+)

Nice chart for you:
http://www.multiplemonitors.org/Page...o%20cards.html

Should get you started, anyway. It's not up to date by any means - but that
should show you how long such cards have been available and some names to
look into.

Default ONE VIDEO CARD WITH 3 OUTPUTS FOR 3 MONITORS

In 2001 I bought a Dell Dimension 1.0GH computer.
It had an onboard Video Card for 1 monitor (IBM 260).

In 2005 I bought an Appian Typhoon 64MB Dual PCI (not PCIe) from
EBAY for 49.99 + 10.00sh.
I bought 2 more monitors (IBM 260s) from CompuCycle in Houston TX.

After playing around with Control Panel Display Display Porperties
Settings,
(dragging the monitor icons around and checking "Extend my Windows desktop
onto this monitor")
the Appian card became monitor 1 & 2, and the onboard card became monitor 3.

I can drag or stretch any window on one monitor to any of the other 2.

Ok,
you have a video card in your machine now...
so if you add a dual display video card to your machine
you will have support for three monitors

Default ONE VIDEO CARD WITH 3 OUTPUTS FOR 3 MONITORS

Thank you Mickey, Shenan Stanley, and JE,

Well the reason I need 3 monitors and perhaps four is this:

In my rec room (basement) I have 3 projectors hanging from the
ceiling, these projectors are aiming into 3 white retractable screens,
furthermore, I also have one 24" monitor on my desk where the PC is. Now,
I want to be able to invite medical staff such as RN's and MD as well as
faculty members to review some X-rays and acquire as many opinions as
possible. Since there are several shades of white, gray and black, I need
to be able to view on a very large scale. This needs to be done during
weekends and casually. An identical set-up does exist at work in the
Hospital Lab, where the IT Dept maintains. What I am really looking for,
is a quality ONE video Card that will do it all, this video card should
FEED 3 projectors and my one primary PC Monitor.

I will be using my PC with my table monitor at home on a daily basis, but
the additional 3 projectors will be only on weekends, a total of four on
weekends. The X-ray images have been burned into a CD in order NOT to
carry original physical X-Rays back and forth from work to home. It took
me over 7 months to set up everything in my rec room, I even have speakers,
now it is time for the final touches, a good video card. NewEgg sells
video cards only with two outputs, it seems the market is flooded with 2
outputs. I have asked the IT personnel to do side work, but are not
available during weekends, and this is the only time I am available at home.
I therefore have taken the task to implement this challenge on my own, I am
also leaning as I go. Now that you know the facts, please suggest to me
any quality video cards with 3 or more outputs, I am even willing to
disable the lousy intergraded card that I am using now.
