Trying to set up a network. The router is set to use a static private IP on
the LAN. In order to log on to the router for further settings, I need to
give the client a static IP address in the same subnet. Going to the
properties sheet of the local area connection, it only displays "connect
using" (and the NIC name) and the "configure" button. There is no entry for
TCP/IP, client for microsoft networks etc - nothing else at all. I am logged
on as administrator and the NIC reports working ok.
IPCONFIG displays no information at all (just "windows IP configuration",
then blank)
How do I get it to display the full properties of the LAC?

Use the device manager to uninstall and then reinstall the NIC.
