Check the settings on the connection speed. For the card,
this will be in the network card (either from the device manager or from the connection, properties|general tab|connect using...|configure) Advanced tab, connection type. It should be auto-negotiate. The other end should be auto-duplex, auto-speed also. Mixing these causes all sorts of problems - auto/auto is your safest choice. The same thing was occuring for me, and my settings were
precisely as you described - that is, set on Auto-Negotiate and whatnot. What else could be wrong? Tyler -----Original Message----- Check the settings on the connection speed. Network cable is unplugged
FWIW - I came across this article on PC Magazines site
(http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1644198,00.asp) it talks about WINSOCK getting corrupted - causing "unplugged" messages. It also references Msft KB 811259 and 299257. I recently reinstalled XP to fix this problem. The next week I come across this article - sheeeesh. Take a look - hope it helps. Andre "Frank" wrote in message ... excues me for tagging on, but I have the same problem. However, I don't know
what you mean by "the other end" do you mean the setting in windows or are there settings thru the router? Thanks! "Michael Pardee" wrote: Check the settings on the connection speed.
