Transferring XP from old PC - new problem

In an earlier post I asked if I could transfer my XP license from my
old pc to my new one. A number of people kindly explained that the
original XP was OEM and so I couldn't do it. In my original post I
said that in order to get the new PC to start I entered the XP code
from my work PC (with the idea of transferring the old XP code, or
buying a new license). However..;

Whereas I used to get the warning message saying that WMP11 couldn't
be installed as WGA detected my XP wasn't licenced, suddenly the
warning has gone and SP3 installs and so does WMP11!

Normally this wouldn't appear to be a problem, but does it mean that
my work PC will start having problems as my new PC has the license
now?

Would appreciate any comments.

Are you looking for a moral reason not to go ahead with your original plan -
or for a technical reason you should?

for updates - that requires WGA to run.

The only exception to this is if your work key is a Volume License Agreement
version.

Get the new license, change the product key on the machine to the new
product key, activate it.

The same way you changed the install key previously. Get a valid license
and use the key-change tools.

When your work PC fails WGA, you may need to phone and explain that you've
fixed the problem.
