Default EternalSeptember still down?

If this poster were not a troll, it would have immediately
recognized or admitted that using port 0 was a substitute for
a default. Just like it is with every other program in the
world.

Xnews must have program logic that says "if port 0 is configured,
automagically translate to port 119" and away it goes. I've never used
Xnews, so I can't tell you much about it.

That was my feeling and I think I may now understand exactly what is
meant by "0=use default" on the Xnews server setup screen. I have
attached a screen shot of that screen he

https://postimg.org/image/psa5xdnz9/

It has to mean that if the user (stupid me) leaves 0 in the port field,
Xnews will automatically use the non-SSL port of 119 but it will still
show 0 in the server field...because whenever I open this screen, 0 is
always there, and there has never been a 119. And that's why if I enter
119, it also works, and 119 stays in that field.

That seems quirky to me, but I'd say the mystery is solved. Thanks for
the screenshot.

It took you nearly a month to troll me in a thread in which you weren't
even involved? You're slipping, dude.

Just like it is with every other program in the world.

Name them. (You won't, because you can't, but you'll weasel out by
admitting you're a chronic troll, as usual.)

Kill files are pointless when the poster is technically
incapable of kill filing a thread branch. Even then, only an
idiot covers its eyes/ears with its hands so that its
adversary can talk behind its back. And then there is the
fact that imaginary kill file friends tend to come and go.
Even when they work, the idiot poster stumbles over replies
to everyone in its alleged kill file. Kill files are worse
than useless unless the system allows mutual blocking.

A not-quite-grown-up playing with its imaginary kill file
friend in public...
