Why is it that it feels like Yahoo gets hacked every three months
or so?

Because they are not releasing the news quickly. They do it in piece
meal and so it feels that they have been hacked again. Mind you it
might be that the Marketing department thinks that this is keeping Yahoo
brand in the news !!!!. They say "There’s No Such Thing as Bad
Publicity" !!!!!!!

This happened in 2013, so if you have seen no ill effects in the last 4
years you probably have nothing to worry about.

That's why I no longer use mine. Getting Yahoo to terminate the account
as requested is another matter!

that use yahoo, gmail etc deserve

Hi Burford,

Actually, one of the good things about gMail (not Yahoo) is
that they have the best spam and virus filter of any service
I have come across. And now-a-days, with ransomware out there
is such numbers, gMail keeps folks out of trouble.

And, yes, the best solution is to not use Windows, but
small businesses have no other choice: no Quickbooks,
UPS World Ship, FedEx Ship, Label Maker, etc. for Linux.

If you use gMail (it works with Thunderbird), just realize that
your data is being harvested by gMail in exchange for being
free.

I use zoho mail at lot (they encrypt and do not harvest), but it
has a lot of technical issues and their staff is not America
based, although their equipment is. zoho will give you
five free accounts.

My ISP contracts with Yahoo for eMail. Oh boy! What a
stinker-rooney. Most folks with this ISP move to some
other eMail service in short order. I have one customer
still on it: she whines a lot about it.

Try this link

https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

Thanks, but the link doesn't work for me. They told me the account had
been deleted but data would remain for 40 days; maybe I forgot and
logged in slightly before then to see if it really had been deleted.
I'm on my second attempt now.
