Default computer seems to restart by itself ?

Sometimes my computer restarts by itself. Also sometimes when I come home I
noticed that the computer has restarted sometime during the day. I am
almost certain that I heard or read somewhere that it restarts when it
encounters a problem with some programs. Is there a way to shut this
feature down if this is the case? If I am hallucinating that the computer
is designed to restart when it encounters problems with a program than what
could it be?

I am using Windows XP Professional and have not encounter this problem up
until about a month ago. Thanks for your response.

Right click on My computer, choose Advanced / Startup & Recovery
Settings. Uncheck "Automatically Restart". You should then see what
is causing the failure next time it occurs.
