WLM 2011 Bundled on new Laptop

I just brought home a new HP Laptop with win7 64 bit preinstalled on it.
The hardware is pretty impressive however it had WLM 2011 bundled on it
which I agree has the worst newsreader there is on it.
But this didn't worry me as I planned to just uninstall it and then
install WLM 2009 which I do really like.

So I uninstalled WLM 2011 and then went to install the 2009 version and
it won't install. It said I have a newer version so the older version
won't install.

This is really maddening. However I decided to try Thunderbird out and
for the first time ever I have it running well enough I plan to keep it
on this machine. Perhaps if I get good enough with this program I'll
take WLM off my destop machine too.

Think the best newsreader is WLM 2011, a little bit slower then Outlook
Express, you have to get used to it, but it's very easy to use. The negative
points are that 2011 will be a bad year for the americans...

I used to use Wlm 2009 but did not like version 2011.I refused to be
forced to update my other live features to 2011 as I liked what I had.
Unfortunately they do not allow you to "mix and match". It was at that
point that I switched to Thunderbird and have gotten used to it fairly
easily. There are many features that I prefer to wlm but extremely minor
details of wlm 09 that I miss. I will stay with Tbird until I find
something better in my opinion. Besides it is free and does what is needed.

I have nothing to complain about WLM 2011, it's just my opinion, don't want
to force you to change anything, WLM 2011 (v.15) it's perfect, if you like
thunderbird or other it's ok for me.

Same thing here. Just Google how to peel 2011 off (it comes with the whole
bundle, Messenger, etc.), then install 2009. It's not as hard as they make
it seem.

only one week to decide to get Thunderbird. WLM is a misbegotten travesty.

Yup they must have purposely broke the newsreader to try to get people
to abandon the groups. Is TB got a good future ahead of it?

whole bundle, Messenger, etc.), then install 2009. It's not as hard
as they make it seem.
I did google that and even did these registry key things they said and
nothing worked. I decided to just switch before I damaged the OS.

I also don't like that ribbon they put on the 2011 version. If 2009 is
not available which it isn't on this machine unless I reformat the HD
and install a brand new OEM copy of win7 I have to just learn this new
program which is getting better the more I use it. For now I will just
learn this TB instead.

Each to his own, of course, but almost everyone here will disagree
with you.

*You* may find it easy to use, but we all find that reading posts of
people who use it extremely difficult because Windows Live Mail 2011
can not correctly quote.

If WLM 2011 is removed properly, WLM 2009 will install on Win7 - no need to
'reformat the HD and install a brand new OEM copy of win7'.
