Default 2000 Group Policies on WinXP Pro

Why do my active directory group policies not apply to windows xp pro
clients on my domain? They apply perfectly to all my 2000 clients.

So i need something extra for xp clients?

When logged in on the XP client as a Domain Admin
can you map a drive to the SysVol ?
Check that you are able to negotiate a common protocol
for authentication and a common algoritm for SMB signing.
There are policies at the local level on the XP and also at
the domain level for the servers that cover
LM authentication
signing of digital communications
For the first, make sure both are able to use NTLM v2
For the second, make sure that they will not try to digitally
sign communications (at least for now, until this gets fixed
in a service release). For example, disable both policies
on the XP client dealing with communications signing.
