Question about clean installing xp?
Hello-
I am currently running xp professional on my pc at home. My computer has been giving me some problems and has been running rather slow lately so I would like to do a clean installation but not sure how the xp activation works since I've already activated the prod key the first time I installed it. Well, what I'm planning to do is use a 20 gig hard drive that I just got and reinstall xp home on that hard drive and then reformat the one i'm currently using and slave it to store data since it's a much larger disk. My question is will I have any problems reactivating windows again since I'll be using a different hard drive. The only hardware components that have changed from the first time I installed xp prof. will be this new hard drive and I have also added an additional 256 mb or RAM since my first activation of xp. And also, what file sytem should I be using on the 20 gig hard drive installation. NTFS or FAT? Please advise, Thank you! Tait |

Question about clean installing xp?
Greetings --
Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.) If it's been less, you might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
