Importing OE files to Outlook 2000
I just got a new laptop with Win 7 ultimate and successfully installed my
aging Office 2000 (I know, I know, but it's all I really need for what I do in my retirement g). Can I import my OE 6 message and address files into Outlook 2000 in my new laptop and use Outlook as my mail reader? Thanks for any info or suggestions. Happy holidays. PJF |

PJF Use your old machine and use OE to export to Outlook. Then copy the .pst file to a pen drive and paste it somewhere on the new machine. Open Outlook and use File/Open to open the transferred .pst file. Move everything to where you want it and then close the old .pst file. -- C |

PJF In addition to all the other replies there WILL be some issues running Outlook 2000 on Windows 7. You will probably run into a password retention problem and you may also see a "WAB.DLL" error. Apparently that can be got over by running Outlook 2000 in Corporate and Workgroup mode rather than Internet mode. |
