Default Installed XP but can only see half of window

I recently had to install Windows XP Home Edition because I couldn't
remember my username and password when I had 2000 Professional. When I had
2000 Professional I could view the whole screen. Since I've installed XP I
can't view the whole screen only half. What is the problem?

Video Card driver?
What window?
Can you move the window?

Not very good in describing what only you can see here....

Use the controls on the monitor to resize or move the screen image.

Changed resolutions, refresh rate, video card driver from the manufacturer
of the video card, different monitor?
