Soon, the only things that won't be "plonked" are your own posts.

Nah. Today's batch of plonkees were all from other newsgroups. I
just felt like making the point that troll feeding is not advisable
behavior.

If *that* is your opinion/criticism, then *say* so!

Publicly announcing a plonk is one of the most childish things one can
do and doing so, you put yourself in the 'troll' - or worse - category.

FYI, your opinion/advice is duly noted and will be honoured/ignored as
*I* see fit.

In addition to his "plonk" and "snipped, unread" posts, chrisv also
contributes a number of articles containing the "fsck" used to replace
the f-word and quotes of people "lying shamelessly."

He's highly entertaining when he's not being a dick.

Would love to see it.

A web search on "senior computer" picked it up:

https://www.mywowcomputer.com/

The thing is very overpriced for the hardware you get, but it is
exceptionally simple to use. You're basically paying for the user
interface. Kind of what like Apple does with OS-X, another company
that managed to tame Unix and make it palatable to the average
person, but you need to buy overpriced hardware to run it. (Aside
from hacked-up versions that may run on commodity hardware.)

Would love to see that in action. I spent some time setting up
newbies and seniors with Ubuntu (and later Mint) and it did not go as
well as I had hoped.

Did a quick search for it and found a review:

I can see some things which might be issues -- such as not being able
to install other program -- but overall I think this would be great
for a lot of the people I have worked with.

I wonder how hard it would be to write a simple window manager where
all it does is have big ass icons on the desktop

cut
Is that not to way win10 works?
