Temporarily disable Windows Defender?
Win 10 Home here.
The WWW says: Head to Start Settings Update & Security Windows Defender. Toggle the switch below Real-time protection to the Off position. But I see no "Real-time protection" under "Windows Defender". And "Windows Defender Security Center" doesn't offer a toggle for RT protection. Sohow does one temporarily disable Windows Defender? (I see registry edits but I'd rather not go down that path, if possible.) |

Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro :-) (O no, a joke …) The only workaround I know for Windows 10 Home: Create two Reg-files 'Disable Defender Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows Defender] "DisableAntiSpyware"=dword:00000001 'Enable Defender Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows Defender] "DisableAntiSpyware"=dword:00000000 So you can easily change the settings on the fly. I know, that is not what you want, but it is the only way Juergen |
