Upgrades conflict and antivirus???
I am running a laptop with XP + SP 2 and in trying to download and install
the latest MS XP updates, when they install they cause a problem with the wireless adapter and cause it to be inoperable. I have tried all manner of fixes after installing but the only way I can get the internet connection back is to go back to last save in System Restore. I also have installed Norton Antivirus 2005, could this be the problem. Is a third party antivirus program really required, or necessary while running up to date XP. It is going to be a problem later on when the updates build up and cant be loaded, any Ideas Please. Regards, Rob. |

Turn off the antivirus autoscanning while updating.

Have you checked with the wireless card's manufacturer (web site) to see if there's a newer driver ? Many wireless cards need an updated driver after having installed SP2 . . . Good Luck ! -----Original Message----- I am running a laptop with XP + SP 2 and in trying to download and install the latest MS XP updates, when they install they cause a problem with the wireless adapter and cause it to be inoperable.
