Default local admin rights "not enough storage

I just had 2 PCs added to a new domain. Both of the units now give me this
error when I try to add local admin rights to the domain IDs:

"Windows cannot process the object with the name XXX because of the
following error:

Not enough storage is available to complete this operation"

One of my co-workers gets the same error, too on one box.
I have the appropriate rights in AD and I have local accounts for admin
rights.

Any thoughts.
