My new laptop, a Toshiba, is creating an unusual file on
my desktop after I hook-up and boot up every morning and
access the Internet. It is a windows file and it is
named "~ file." I don't have a clue what this is. You
can send it to the recycle bin and delete it from there
and nothing seems to be affected. But the next day,
after hooking everything up, startting the laptop,
accessing the Internet, it appears again. I just don't
like things on my desktop if I don't know what they are.
I called Toshiba and they don't have a clue what it is
either and they suggested I contact microsoft, so I am.
Any ideas out there on it?

Don't worry 'bout it. It is related to your addresss book and is a result of a
XP update. I understand it will be corrected in a later update.
