sp2 causing atapi io errors when running nero burning rom
Nero hangs for quite sometime and the event viewer reports an atapi io
timedout. This never happend with sp1. I'm just reporting a bug I found, this error has also occured with other programs I have. Has anyone had the same problem with nero and simliar programs? |

Have the same with NERO and INCD. Am not anymore able to write on CD. Incd
format seems OK but writing causes same crash as NERO. Went back to SP1 and everything was back OK. The version I use is Nero 5.5.10.20 and INCD 4.0.20 On SP2, I have disable the windows CD burner in SP2 by right clicking on the writer drive - properties - recording - and leaving the "enable windows writing to this DC" empty. It didn't help. Where is the trick? "Armano" wrote: Nero hangs for quite sometime and the event viewer reports an atapi io timedout. This never happend with sp1. Roxio 5.3.5.19 basic is working here on sp2 for me.
No problems noted other that the limit on file name lengths @ 64 characters - the basic program limits you to that. Just a random try, but you might try reinstalling NERO after SP2. The new reinstall might 'see' the new system files better. No idea if that would change anything, but coudln't hurt. Gregg C. |

I installed nero after sp2. from the nero website the latest version says it has fixed compatibiliy issues with sp2, but now i doubt they checked everything for probs. might just weight for the new build of nero when its released, i'm in no rush, i don't use it much these days. |

However the latest is: 5.5.10.56. This is what I am using. No problems with SP2. Hell its worth a shot. |

The latest Nero v6.3.1.20 works fine with SP2 and is available for update,.
All my progs seem to work fine except for iTunes, the Event Viewer is still logging the same atapi.sys timeout error. Maybe just an MS vs Apple thing. |
