Default VPN Tunnel Set-up

I am a small business general manager (gross rev $2M/yr). We have a LAN
workgroup at our home office (mixed o/s: WinME, WinXP-H, WinXP-P). We have
one DSL internet connection and a Linksys VPN router at the home office. We
need to add computers (WinXP-H) at two remote locations, one with DSL, one
with 56k modem internet connections. I think a VPN tunnel to each site would
do the trick. I need plain english instructions on how to set it up and keep
it running. I have tried MYRIAD KB articles, but none address the problem end
to end. Any suggestions?
